Last week, Mill Creek Elementary was recognized as a PTA School of Excellence winner for 2021-2023. Mill Creek was one of only four schools recognized across the State of Kansas, three of the schools were from SMSD.
Representing Mill Creek – Mr Ferrell, Principal, Aimee Hirsch, School of Excellence committee chair, Heather Novacky, PTA President. Pictured are Broken Arrow and SM East the two other SMSD schools awarded, Superintendent Dr Michele Hubbard and Board of Education members.
National PTA School of Excellence is a recognition program that supports and celebrates partnerships between PTAs and schools to enrich the educational experience and overall well-being for all students. By enrolling in this program, PTA and school administrators are making a year-long commitment in identifying and implementing an action plan for school improvement based on PTA’s National Standards for Family-School Partnerships.

Book Fair – Dec 5-9

Please consider helping with the Fall PTA Book fair! Volunteers will help students shop, run the register and occasionally help with restocking book titles. We also need volunteers to help set up and break down the book fair. Classrooms that will be in library at a certain time have been included, if you want to volunteer during that timeframe. However, any time would be appreciated and you can certainly sign up for more than one time slot or day. Thank you for your assistance making the book fair another successful PTA event!

Yearbook Orders Open

Yearbook orders are ready to be placed for the 2022-2023 school year. This year, we are adding an extra option to help cover the cost of another student who may not be able to afford the cost of a yearbook. Let’s give every student the opportunity to remember their elementary years. If you can help, we appreciate it.
